Well faithful readers, only one more week left in the Nation's capital. I'm excited to get back to Grand Rapids, and I'll give you two reasons why that is: this and this. There are other reasons, but those are two of the biggies.
Some highlights from the past weeks: Nationals game, a visit to Ford's Theater, a police bust next door to our apartment, and a trip to Mount Vernon.
My next post will most likely be from Grand Rapids, although maybe you'll see something soon on what I think about President Bush coming to Calvin.
Is that Mr. Van Stee in the pictures of the Nationals game? He looks good.
And I'm waiting for your thoughts on the "Bush at Calvin" thing. I want to hear it from someone on the "inside," not from the Washington Post.
Posted by: Aaron at May 20, 2005 07:30 PMOk.
I personally don't consider Phil "on the inside". He's been in D.C. for a semester, around no students apart from those motivated enough to to go DC for a sememster. He's had no classes with the standard rank-and-file calvin students, apart from those he IMs (close friends), his current classmates (who aren't the 'standard' students) or via mailing lists (again, which isn't very representative.
Phil's comments reflect probably his own, and perhaps those of the people he's with in DC. It's bad to assume that Phil's feelings represent anybody apart from his own or those around him directly - and therefore, not the calvin student body as a whole.
Phil: I'd like to know what your thoughts are. I just wo'nt read into them :-/
Posted by: adam at May 21, 2005 04:31 AMI never pledged to "read into" Phil's thoughts. I think you read into my thoughts, and incorrectly so. That's why I put the word "inside" in quotes.
I just wanted to hear what Phil, a Calvin College student, thought about it. I'm not looking for an opinion leader in him, just a comment or two.
